Al-shabab says it withdrew from Baidoa for fighting strategy

MOGADISHU (Keydmedia) - The Al-Qaeda linked rebel group of Al-shabab says it Withdrew from Baidoa town on Wednesday for fighting strategy’ and will be back soon in the town, a day after TFG soldiers supported by Ethiopian forces recaptured it.

Warlords Abdiasis Abu Musab, the spokesman of Al-shabab insurgents for the military operations told a militant-controlled Media that they changed their battle for  tactical purposes  into hit and run attacks on Somali government and Ethiopian troops in Baidoa town, 250-Km away south of the capital, Mogadishu.

 Witnesses told Keydmedia English News that Al-Shabaab fighters in cars were heading south of Baidoa toward Bur town and other towns under their control in southern Somalia. Residents wasted no time celebrating, immediately pouring into the streets to jeer the vacating of rebels from the city.

 Reports from Baidoa this morning indicated that a huge landmine explosion was targeted on Ethiopian military trucks, killing unconfirmed casualties to the army.

 Baidoa town is now under Somalia government control for the first time in years.

The group has suffered losses to key players in recent months.
