AMISOM, Al-shabab shell IDPs camp, 7 injured
MOGADISHU, Somalia (Keydmedia) - At least seven internally displaced people lost their lives after AMISOM Al-Shabab rebels raided with mortars on IDP camp in Mogadishu corridor late on Monday, witnesses said.
The mortar bombardment targeted on IDPs camp located on area between former factory of medicine and Ex-control intersection where hundreds of newly IDPs are housing. Two old women and two children were among the injured people who were rushed to Madina hospital, a relative of the wounded ones told Keydmedia English News via phone
Ahmed Yare, a military officer told Keydmedia English News correspondent in the capital that the shelling followed after the militants linked with Al-Qaeda launched a mortar attack overnight on TFG and AMISOM bases at Ex-control Afgoye checkpoint, south of Mogadishu.
Meanwhile, AMISOM forces in Mogadishu bases launched direct mortar and artillery shelling against a residential area called Kahda Village, out of Dharkenlay district, causing loss of life and properties in that attack.
There is no response about the shells was immediately available from AMISOM and Al-Shabab rebels.
