Deadly car accident kills 12, injures 35 in southern Somalia
MOGADISHU (Keydmedia) — At least 12 people have on Sunday night died and nearly 40 injured in a deadly car accident that took place in El-adde village nearby the Somali capital, Mogadishu, witnesses said.
Reports say the fatal incident came after the truck which was overloaded by passengers to go too fast to reach its destination.
The car has traveled yesterday from Mogadishu and was heading to Middle Shabelle region of southern Somalia.
After the fatal and horrific truck accident, residents in nearby villages rushed at the scene to rescue the harmed victims who some of them still under the overturned truck.
Medicals officials in Mogadishu hospitals say the death toll could rise, because of they say nearly 40 people were hospitalized, some of them are in critical condition.
On the other hand, AMISOM forces in Mogadishu have opened fire overnight on cars full of victims of the car accident intentionally as the injured were bleeding the death from their wounds.
Usually in Somalia, car accidents are routine and that is attributed to drivers who had no enough experience for driving as the roads are very rough and broken.
