Press Release: TUNNI SHANGAMAS PROTESTS AND WILL NEVER ACCEPT THE WAY THEY BEEN ROBBED ....
Press Release; London - We the undersigned intellectuals, politicians and traditional leaders of Tunni Shangamas clan, one of the Somali clans in Lower and Middle Juba regions, who had a major role in the liberation Jubaland districts and formation of Jubaland administration led by President Ahmed Mohamed Islan, express our disappointment at the utter disrespect and calculated political marginalisation to which Tunni Shangamas clan has been subjected by denying our right to have parliamentarians in the new Jubaland Parliament.
Tunni Shangamas clan is made up of five subclans and is known for love of peace, unity and peaceful coexistence with other Somali clans. Tunni Shangamas clan members live in Afmadow, Araare ,Jamaame, Zanguuni , Bu'aale, Dujuma, Jilib, Jamaame and Saakow. Our right to have members of in the Jubaland Parliament has been denied. Tunni Shangamas leaders have brought our concerns to the attention of Jubaland President and arbitration committee .
We denounce the manner parliamentary seats for Jubaand Parliament has been distributed. We would like IGAD and Somali Federal government to look into this issue.
