EgalIn Somalia, there are heterogeneous political groups, some agitating for a greater autonomy and others use violence to impose their will.In some places some of these groups believe in tolerance, good neighborliness as well a greater autonomy and self governess by establishing regional autonomous states. They are striving to define their individuality and gain more control over their lives.
In a nutshell, a partnership with the U.S., as envisioned in this legislation, would provide Somaliland with the financial and military wherewithal it needs to make separation from Somalia a fait accompli. It would also lend Somaliland a mantle of legitimacy.
Special operations forces had been assisting local units for several years in battling al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaida. But shortly before leaving office, President Donald Trump ordered some 700 U.S. troops out of Somalia.
Until recently, Somalia was on an upward trajectory. Although it continued to struggle with piracy, famine, and terrorism, the country was turning the corner after decades of bloody civil war.
In March, the Kenyan government issued an ultimatum to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR): Create a plan to close two camps that host more than 430,000 refugees, or we will forcibly expel them to their home countries immediately. However, refugees say forced repatriation is not a humane option.

By Dr. O. A. EgalGeographically Somalia lies in a very strategic part of our conflicting and confused world. This unfortunate natural habitat of Somali people is the epicenter of all its suffering. Every emerging dominant nation would need a cache placed in a very strategic place to consolidate their power and enhance their control over the rest of the world. If such ideal cache place is not available then the logic is to make sure that rivals do not lay hand on it. This is exactly what has happened in old world and is happening in our era for dominance in an ever shrinking world in terms of resources in line with ever increasing populations.
