AMISOM troops are crucial for maintaining security with their presence in the country reassuring for the Western-backed government. They are tasked to help the Somali National Amy stand the chance to launch counter-terrorism operations against Al-Shabaab.
Karie has been staying in the capital Mogadishu for 45 days before making a trip to his Galmudug to renew his absenteeism from the state and has never visited again since then.
