Somali shops bring color to Turkish capital
The leaders of Jubbaland and Puntland and the Opposition Allies along with the Union of Somaliland politician have co-founded a new forum following a meeting that took place inside Halane Base in Mogadishu.
MOGADISHU, Somalia - The new forum called The National Salvation Forum is dedicated to seek common ground for the country’s current political turmoil and facilitate holding an inclusive and free election to take place, says Abdi Hashi, Somalia's Upper House Chairman.
The new Forum was found to safeguard the national interest and to keep the future of the country from uncertainty, the Forum claimed.
Abdi Hashi, the Upper House Chairman, was elected as chairperson with former presidents Hassan Sheikh and Sheikh Sharif, Deni and Madoobe becoming his deputies.
The new alliance accused the outgoing President of being responsible for the foiling of 17 September agreement reached in Mogadishu and Dhusamareb 4, saying outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farnaajo had to take the blame for immaterializing a national forum for discussion that could be taken place in Mogadishu.
The forum also accused Farmaajo of masterminding a plot to assassinate the two ex-leaders including his predecessor Hassan Sheikh.
