A bomb attack kills district official in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia - An IED has hit the car of deputy DC of Dayniile, Abdi Mohamed Mohamud while driving in the Darussalam Village leaving him dead with some other casualties reported.

The district official has sustained serious wounds in the attack and within few hours he died at a hospital, according to the police. The landmine also killed and injured some of his security guards. 

The security forces who cordoned off the scene launched an investigation to attain full insight into the scale of the explosion and arrest the culprits. 

Early this month, a car bomb intended to kill the District’s Secretary took place in the vicinity which he escaped unhurt, but took the lives of civilians, including a mother that was breastfeeding her newly born child.

And last weekend, the DC of HamarJabab, Mohamed Abdi was killed in his residence.

The attacks in Mogadishu have been on the rise amidst political crisis over the illegal extension term made by the Lower House for the outgoing leader Farmajo.
