MOGADISHU, Somalia - Al-Shabaab fired several mortar bombs into the Halane base camp, which houses AMISOM, UN, and foreign diplomatic missions in Mogadishu on Tuesday noon.
At least three mortars slammed into the heavily fortified seaside compound, causing damages to AU vehicles and several main offices, according to sources.
No casualties have been reported so far.
The attack happened hours before the arrival of Jubaland state leader Ahmed Madobe at Aden Abdulle International airport. Madobe is a fierce critic of the outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
