Al-shabab arrests UNICEF, ICRC officials in southern Somalia.

BAYDHABO (KEYDMEDIA) reports from bay region confirmed that Al-shabab militant arrested two employees of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Baydhabo the capital of the region.

Abdi risaq Mohamed Kheyre, ICRC employee and  Aali Mo’alim Black, UNICEF official have been arrested Al-shabab fighters who are reportedly loyal to Al-shabab’s first leader Mohame d Abid Owgodane. The nationality   of abducted officials is Somali.


UNICEF and ICRC were the unique aid agencies who have been working in the country after Al-shabab banned all foreign agencies to work in Somalia. Some reports say that UNICEF and ICRC sued to give Al-shabab much money.
