Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Arab, a TFG army officer, confirmed to Keydmedia News desk in Kismayu the attack, saying the allied forces repulsed Al shabab from storming their bases in Qoqani town in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia.

No figures on the casualties in a result of the attack were reported so far.

Kenya has tried to beef up security along the border since it sent troops into the anarchic Horn of Africa country in last October to crush the Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab insurgents.
