Prime Minister Hamse who was named on June 15 is expected to appoint the Cabinet within 8 days, according to the Keydmedia Online sources.
MOGADISHU, Somalia - The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the appointment of the Council of Ministers.
A statement from the office of the PM said that Barre updated the President about the process of forming the government and his line-up, as the 10-day extra time for the announcement is running out.
The Prime Minister, who has been holding consultations with various sectors of society these days, has shared with the President about the process of forming a quality government that will respond to the national priorities," the statement said.
The appointment of the Council of Ministers took more than 30 days and the parliament has given the PM on July 25 an additional 10 more days to finalize the process.
Prime Minister Hamse who was named on June 15 is expected to announce the Cabinet within 8 days, according to the Keydmedia Online sources.
The cabinet will seek approval from parliament soon after the appointment in line with the country's constitution. Somalia has been in political chaos for years due to the protracted electoral process.
