AMISOM confirms US military help.

Mogadishu (Keydedia) -Newly named AMISOM commander, Fred Mugisha, told reporters in Mogadishu that United States gave AMISOM military support.

Fred Mugisha announced this after Some 3,000 Ugandan soldiers have arrived in the Somali capital on Saturday to prop the beleaguered government against al-Shabab group in the Horn of Africa nation.


Obama administration announced recently that it is sending at least$40 million in military equipment, including four small drones, to Uganda and Burundi to help battle against Al-Qaeda and Al-shabab.


“The United States has offered AMISOM with millions of dollars in military equipment to help fight extremists inside Somalia,” AMISOM commander, Fred Mugisha, said during a press conference.


Meanwhile, Mugisha confirmed that extra forces from southern and western Africa countries will come soon in Somalia so as to join the struggle towards Al-shabab drive out of Somalia
