MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least six people were dead and nearly ten others wounded after a heavy clan battle erupted again in central Somalia on Monday, authorities, and residents said.
The inter-tribal clashes came after a dispute over grazing land in Heraale village located west of Balanballe district in the Galgadud region forced several families to flee their houses
The pastoralists took the arms and began killing each other amid a drought that threatens the lives of thousands of people in the south and central Somalia, where the aid agencies warn of a 2011-like famine.
The local residents said the fighting was recurring and there was no one stood for resolving the factors that often reignite the feud between the nomad clans living side by side in the rural areas in Galgadud.
