The blast took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning on the busy Maka Al-Mukarama Street, a road that connects from KM4 junction to the presidential palace, Somalia, injuring two people, one a police and a civilian.

Witnesses said the car bomb went off shortly after the security forces had sealed off the road to inspect the car which its driver parked in front of very populated Makka Al Mukrama road, especially Shaqalaha(workers) intersection.

Police arrested four suspects who are in custody, including one who had a remote control detonator of the foiled suicide car.

For the time being Waberi district commissioner Ahmed Meyre Makaran who also spoke to the journalists explained the foiled suicide car as ‘cowardly attack’ against the humanity and blamed Al Shabab rebels for the attack.

There has been a surge of car and suicide bombings like this one in Mogadishu of which Alshabab claimed responsibility for most of them
