Ethiopian troops seize dozens of people in central Somali town

Baladweyne (Keydmedia) – Witnesses say in Belwedweyn town at least twenty people have been arrested by the invading Ethiopian forces over suspicions with Al-shabab rebel group linked with Al-Qaeda.

The accused were arrested in an operation at Howlwadag village in Beledweyn town, the capital city of Hiran region of Central Somalia and they have been taken into a prison, according to reliable reports.

This move followed after an Ethiopian military base at Howlwadag village was attacked by unknown gunmen last night which caused undisclosed casualty. A witness who declined to identified confirmed to Keydmedia that some people,including women  were whipped by Ethiopian troops.

No group has claimed the responsibility of the last night attack on the Ethiopian military poison at Howlwadag village so far, but the town of Beledweyn has witnessed frequent attacks and blasts since it fell its control into TFG soldiers aided by Ethiopian forces.
