Witnesses told Keydmedia English that the Fighting erupted at Howlwadag village in western of Beledweyne town, with both sides exchanging fire using heavy machine guns and slight weapons, causing civilian casualties who were injured in the crossfire.

"There is heavy combat this midday in several locations in the town, it is too early to say about the exact casualty numbers, but there are four persons killed and unconfirmed number were injured during the battle" a resident told Keydmedia English by phone.

There are some reports suggest that the war is between Shabelle Valley fighters and the Al-Qaeda linked militias of Al-shabab who have been launching over the past few weeks hit-and-run attacks and suicide car bombs on TFG and Ethiopian force bases in Beledweyne.

Latest reports from Beledweyne town indicate that the heavy fighting is still going on in several villages in the city.

However, details are still sketchy and no immediate reports about the exact casualties were available.
