Residents told Keydmedia English News by phone that several Kenyan fighter jets flew over a location called Taraka, which is just about 55 KM away west from Bardere district of Gedo region and raided it on the air, killing ruthlessly 5 blameless local residents and various livestock.

“The injured people are being treated in Bardere hospitals, and for lack of functioning hospital here we are considering taking them to other places in Gedo region for a proper treatment to save their life,” an elder said.

Abdullahi A/rahman, a victim who spoke to Keydmedia English News correspondent in the region said the Kenyan fighter planes flew over the area and conducted aerial attacks targeting deliberately on homes living civilians and went away without knowing who they have killed.

Kenya has launched several direct bombing raids in the region since beginning its offensive against the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabab rebels in mid-October last year 2011. Several villages in Jubba regions were also vacated due to indiscriminate Kenyan air bombardments.

Tarako is an agricultural village near Bardere district and is controlled by Al Shabab. The raid is not the first in the location despite the Kenyan jets had been conducting air raids in the region.

Note: Keydmedia English News is attempting to examine exact number of innocent Somalis killed by warplanes belonging to The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in southern and western regions of the country.
