The Gu’ season rains begun on Sunday night and continued until today on Monday as floods of rain water stream washed the main streets of the capital where locals have been suffering day and night humidity in the last three months.
Local transportation in Mogadishu was also usual as residents and students went to the markets and educational institutions, schools and universities. The rains drew much concern over the livelihood condition of nearly 100,000 IDPs at meager shelters in the capital.
No casualties were reported yet, but the Drought-displaced families living in squalid camps at Tarabunka IDP camp and elsewhere in the city have called immediately for shelter aid after the 24-hours long rains have flooded their meager shelters.
