A witness in Bu’ale town told Keydmedia Somali Service on the phone that the jets fired at least 11 rounds of missiles on a training camp for Al shabab located in Far-Shabeel area, on the outskirts of Bu’ale town, killing and wounding unidentified number of militant fighters.

“I think there are heavy losses sustained on Al shabab fighters in the bombed area, because broad smoke and flames could be seen shadowed the skyline over the base,” another witness told Keydmedia Somali Service on condition of anonymity.

Al Shabaab militants have yet to release comments to confirm or deny the bombardment.

Kenya sent troops and tanks illegitimately into anarchic Somalia in October after cross-border raids and kidnappings that it blamed on Al Shabaab, which has allied with Al Qaeda early this year.
