Lafta-gareen chairs security meeting amid the group terror attack

BAIDOA, Somalia - The leader of South-west State, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed alias (Lafta-gareen) chaired a security conference attended by the security minister and the officials where he listened to some of the officials’ reports about their operations – from patrolling the streets to maintaining the security 24-hours clock to avert the terror attempts conducted by the al-Shabab.

A large vast swathe of the State is controlled by the militants launching attacks, ambush, and planting IEDs.

The al-Qaida-linked militants have recently carried out a massive offensive against the National Army in which they fail to take over the military bases in the Lower Shabelle region before encountering an eye-catching defeat.

They previously placed sanctions on many districts including Diinsoor after surrounding the entire district to disconnect from receiving humanitarian aid with Barawe, the state’s capital facing a similar offensive from the group.

The state leader, Lafta-gareen abandoned his position failing to take these recurring matters into action and sided with the outgoing President, who declared him a winner in an unprecedented election followed by bloody mayhem.

He was among the leaders who applauded the extension term regulated by the acting Parliament that gives the outgoing President a two-year mandate to stay in office.
