Southwest leader meets his predecessor first time since his election

MOGADISHU, Somalia -- The leader of the South-west State, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed 'Lafta-gareen' has for the first time met his predecessor, Sharif Hassan, who is a presidential candidate in the upcoming elections and agreed to disown the past crutches.

In a meeting facilitated by the federal lawmakers from the State, the two have highlighted the importance of restoring the ties averting the calamity, and stay united.

The move is part of the preparation of the upcoming election whose campaign is believed to have already started following the agreement signed.

The two never met since Lafta-gareen was pronounced to have won the presidency of South-west State with Sharif refraining from being a candidate in that election.

The Thursday agreement reached in Afisyoni has been an ice-breaking for the politicians and candidates alike who are now determined to bond their place in the campaign.
