Al-Shabaab militants Flee key town as Somali army Advances
Islamist militias of Al-shabab got into the Horn Afric radio station last night ordering the journalists to get out and destroying cassettes of that media and entering rooms of the building one by one, reports said.
Horn Afrik was off air for three days and the reason is not clear weather it was off air for technical problems or nor.
The equipment of the radio was taken by Al-shabab forces, although similarly BBC-station in the Horn Afrik was already looted equally early this year.
GBC radio was also conquered this morning by Hisbul-Islam militias, no further details were found from the station since the staff of the radio confirmed the news to the reporters.
These are not the first and second acts against local F.M stations and journalists operating in the dangerous city of Mogadishu, Somaliweyn radio and IQK were either looted or confiscated early this year and no one knows what the next step would be.
Sources say that the United States and Turkish forces based in the capital Mogadishu have bombed Al-Shabaab's defensive bases from the air, which forced the militants to flee.
