Opposition calls for inclusive participation in the election conference

MOGADISHU, Somalia -- The spokesperson of the Union of the Candidates, Dahir Mohamud Gelle who spoke to the press in Jazeera Hotel said that the acting Somali PM, Mohamed Hussein Roobe is required to hold an inclusive conference participated by the political stakeholders at large.

“The Union has unequivocally pledged support for the decision to hand over the process and the responsibility of the election to the Somali caretaker PM, showing lights of hope from his take-over,” he said.

Gelle argued that it's part of the process to share concerns and let the civil society groups and candidates join in the election conference to breach the vicious cycle surrounding the country’s future and shape the face of this nation collectively.

He said the candidates’ support is still invariable calling on Rooble to take advantage of their solidarity and engage in the election process in a transparent way.

He rejected the news of division among the candidates arguing that they were united in every statement released.
