We will not lay down arms as Farmajo remains in power - Senator

MOGADISHU, Somalia -- Senator Muse Suudi Yalahow, a member of the Upper House Senate said that the opposition will never take rest as long as the outgoing president is in Villa Somalia.

Sudi delivered this remark in a ceremony he was handed over several camels to him by one of the clans in the capital to show solidarity with the troops loyal to him along with the opposition candidates.

The senator who is one of the most powerful figures in the capital Mogadishu told the outgoing leader, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo that the Somali people are fed up with authoritarianism and are ready to pay the prices it takes to topple to save the nation.

“Those around you can’t defend you in hardship; they are lying to you even before your departure from the Villa Somalia; the camel donations to the Salvation troops will never run out and neither do we fall asleep,” he said.

He mentioned that the only path to a bright future is to hold an inclusive immediate election to take place in the country saying failure to do it then war will be inevitable.

The opposition troops have maintained a presence in some parts of the capital especially in the northern side although several of them withdrew as part of the agreement they reached with the acting PM, Mohamed Hussein Rooble.
