Shabab leader calls fighters to stop violations

“Having a gun does not give you the legitimacy to mistreat people” he added.

Islamist groups fighting to topple Somalia’s international recognized government have long been famous for beating people with lashes and sticks.

He also ordered people to support them in the fight against Somali government.

“You have to give us a hand, you know, we are fighting with the money we collected from you” he told worshippers in the mosque.

His remarks came few days after large swathes of territories were wrested from Hizbul which eventually forced the Hizbul Islam to concede and join Shabab.
