Farmajo accused of kidnaping the nation’s future

MOGADISHU, Somalia - The Opposition Candidates Ally held a press conference following the term extension regulation approved the Lower House, a move that gives the incumbent another two-year mandate to stay in power.

With some suggesting the outgoing President is on the way to becoming the new dictator in Somalia, The Opposition said that they felt an obligation to speak up as they see nothing but mayhem that will follow the controversial steps taken forward by acting Speaker whose term ended before the outgoing President.

They called on the citizens to share this concern and demand their voice be heard by taking to the streets saying eventually it’s up to the Somali people to join in hands to stay true to their future.

They reminded those troops deployed to the streets to focus on their duties and stay away from politics.

“Anyone who is determined to lead this nation must be democratically elected to stay in power and that is what we individually happened to rule this country,” Sharif Sheikh said while speaking to the outgoing President.

Somalia faces future uncertainty and the fate of this nation is going out of its citizens who barely get enough to have a say in the process of transforming power peacefully and came really close to losing faith in governance.

It was on Monday noon when the Somali acting Parliament extended two year-term for the outgoing President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo to stay in power until the country, they claimed, can stand a chance to holding a nationwide – one-man, one-vote election.
