MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali PM Mohamed Hussein Roble and Galmudug leader Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoor-Qoor have reached an agreement over their dispute during hours-long talks in Mogadishu.

Sources privy to the meeting revealed to Keydmedia Online that both sides agreed to put aside all differences and work together on the country’s election and how to find a solution to the political crisis.

Qoor-Qoor was one of the parties involved in resolving the dispute between Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble, but he was accused of siding with the outgoing President, which angered the prime minister.

Politicians have previously criticized the Galmudug leader for not playing a positive role in the Farmajo-Roble dispute, and for not mediating between the sides whose relations have reached the lowest point.

Efforts led by Qoor-Qoor and his Southwest state counterpart Lafta Gareen to resolve the standoff have ended without a result, although Puntland has announced it will try to mediate.

Sources close to the Prime Minister's Office told KON that the rift between Prime Minister Roble and Farmajo could take months to end as the case of the slain NISA officer Ikran Tahlil added fuel to the fire.

Tahlil, 25, went missing on June 26 of this year after she was abducted from her house around NISA HQs and never returned home. After nearly a three-month disappearance, the spy agency announced her death, accusing Al-Shabaab of the murder. The group denies the claims as baseless.

Her Mother Qali Guhad blamed NISA leadership for being behind her daughter's assassination and asked for justice. The mysterious death sparked a deadlock pitting Farmajo against Roble.
