A local reporter has confirmed to KON the takeover of the city by Somaliland forces and he added that the army has made barricades in the several sites of Taleeh, after Khaatumo fighters fled to nearby Bacame area.

“The Somaliland troops have been massing around Taleeh over the last few days and they finally moved in on Thursday morning without encountering a resistance from  Khatumo state forces who relocated Bocame area,” he added.

After the Somaliland forces entered the town the leaders of the state administration moved out to a nearby location called Hallin 40km eastern Taleh.

Over the last few weeks, the town was hosting the third Khatumo state annual conference where leaders, Diaspora and community elders were holding ceremonies and discussions to shape the future of Khatumo state.
