Suicide car bomb attack kill 10, wound 10 others

MOGADISHU (Keydmdia.net)-At least 10 people were killed and 10 others wounded at Mogadishu’s international airport after the Islamist militias of Al-shabab attacked with suicide car bomb today, reports said.

Attackers carried two little cars filled with explosive things and one of them exploded at the front gate of the Mogadishu’s main airport while the other car was exploded later by the African Union peacekeeping forces who guide the security of the airport, source said.

Two of the African union troops were killed in the attack while three of them were among the injuries and the others were government police and civilians around there.

After the suicide car attack there were exchange of fires between the attackers who got into the airport building and the African Union peacekeeping forces and the attackers are believed to have died all there, eyewitness said.

Al-shabab spokesman Sheikh Ali Dhere claimed the responsibility of the suicide attack adding that they were talks which was going in the airport that was assassination plan against Muslim people saying the Islaminst got that news and took that action as he wrote the statement.

Major Barijeye Bahuku, spokesman of the African Union peacekeeping forces confirmed that some of Amisom forces died and wounded although he said that the attackers failed their goals.

The ministry of information of the transitional federal government issued statement about the blast and condemned the attack and sent condolence message to the relatives of the dead either they were African Union peacekeeping forces or civilians who lost their lives in the suicide attack.

Minister of information A/rahman Osman hoped that the injured soldiers recover soon. “We greatly appreciate the support and sometimes the sacrifice of every African Union soldier who comes to Somalia to help us, the minister said.
