MOGADISHU, Somalia – The security forces in Mogadishu have arrested three women in connection with the murder of a district commissioner on April 16.
The women – Farhiya Hassan, 31, Farhiya Abdi, 38, and Aliya Abukar, 38 were charged with facilitating the assassination of Hamar-Jajab district head Mohamed Abdi Hayle who was beheaded by Al-Shabaab men.

Police said the killing wasn’t a random incident and the investigation is ongoing.
The dead body of the slain district head was laid to rest on Saturday in the capital with top Benadir regional officials and family members were in attendance of the burial service.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing, which comes amid tension following the dismissal of the city’s police boss Sadak John, who is now mobilizing troops in Shirkole.
