3 killed, 5 injured by Blast in Mogadishu IDPs camp

MOGADISHU, Somalia (Keymedia) – At least three people slain and five others were wounded in a landmine explosion overnight at Badbado camp, the largest IDPs camp for the drought and famine stricken families in Somalia capital, Mogadishu, Keydmedia reports.

According to some of the IDPs confirmed to Kedmedia English News via phone that the explosion which was improvised explosive device was targeted on TFG soldiers in vehicles who have been passing nearby the camp in Dharkenlay district of Banadir region, killing a soldier, two civilians and injuring five who were taken to the Hospitals in Mogadishu.

 The blast which was huge and heard across the capital last night forced many IDPs at the camp to flee as the situation remained tense after soldiers from the government reached at the scene after the blast who made search operations and investigations.

 No arrests were confirmed so far for the incident, but the site, Badbado IDP camp in Mogadishu’s Dharkenlay district has previously been hit large scale of looting and raping by TFG soldiers who control the area.

 Al-shabab rebels who carry out such attacks in the capital did claim the responsibility of the landmine explosion at Mogadishu IDP camp on Tuesday.
