Ahlu Sunna: an Al-shabab leader was killed near Dhusamareb town

MOGADISHU, Somalia (Keydmedia) Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca in central Somalia said on Monday it has killed a leader from Al-Qaeda linked rebel group of Al-shabab during an operation on the outskirts of Dhusamareb town, the capital of Galdadud region in central Somalia.

Sheik Abdi, one of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a (ASWJ) officials in the central Somalia told Keydmedia Englsih News reporter in southern Galkayo town that  the operation took place in an area just 35-Km from the town of Dhusmareb, killing the commander of Al-shabab rebels.

 Mr. Abdi said the successful crackdown by Ahlu Sunna fighters at Gadon village was aimed to root Al-shabab elements in the region that have staged immense assassinations and explosions against the civilians for the past three years.

 Today we make clear that our fighters have conducted an operation at villages nearby Dhusmareb town in Galgadud province. They managed to kill a senior Al-shabab leader whom the rebels appointed this region to bother and kill the innocent civilians, said Sheik Abdi. Al-shabab did speak so far about the Ahlu Sunna claim.

 Ahlu Sunah Waljamaâ ASWJ supports for the Transitional Federal Government TFG which is confronting long resistance from armed islamist militants of Al-shabab linked with Al-Qaeda who want to topple TFG and impose the country for strict Sharia law.
