The incident occurred early hours on Friday morning after a remote-controlled landmine targeted on a military base belonging to Somali government soldiers at Bardale village, east of Baidoa town, the capital of Bay region.

New reports said that hundreds of security forces under Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government (TFG) have reached at the site of the explosion and began an investigation for the bomb, arresting a number of innocent locals into custody

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Al-shabab militants linked with Al-Qaeda have previously carried out a string of blasts, including roadside bombs and grenade explosions against Somalia and Ethiopian forces in recent weeks.
