Bomb explosion in Baidoa town kills a child, injures four

BAIDOA, Somalia (Keydmedia) – At least one child has lost his live and four others sustained grave wounds after an unexploded device they had been playing went off at the village of Holwadag in Baidoa town, about 250 Km south of Somali capital, Mogadishu, security officials said.

The incident came as the children had been trying to bang an unexploded landmine which they found in the village. Police forces at a nearby station have rescued many children after the bomb went off. One child died on the spot while four others suffered serious injuries and are being treated in a local medical center.

"It is the most awful tragedy I have ever seen for years" a witness told." “Most of the wounded people are unconscious and others have their faces blackened by smoke and heat."

This is first blast takes place in Baidoa since the allied forces of TFG and Ethiopian forces pushed the rebel group of Al-shabab from the town after three years.

The Somali government troops who recently captured Baidoa town from Al-shabab rebels are struggling hard to restore peace and stability in the town.
