IGAD 18th Extra Ordinary Summit begins In Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa (Keydmedia) - High level summit of Inter Governmental Agency on Development (IGAD) Heads of State and Government began in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia which is thought its main agenda will include Somali political crisis.

The delegation of the meeting will focus on the prevailing political and security situation in Somalia also Eritrea’s activities in the region and Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Sudan.


Many Heads of State attended the meeting, including Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.


President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki who is one of the presidents stated the meeting expressed hope that the Summit would outline strategies to enhance the capabilities of the Government in Somalia and commended the continued efforts of Burundi and Uganda to stabilize Somalia despite the difficult prevailing circumstances.


He further called on the international community, in particular the UN Security Council to provide the necessary support for sustainable peace and development in Somalia.
