Kampala accord is approved.

Mogadishu (Keydmedia) - Somali MPs on Monday approved controversial Kampala accord which June 9, 2011 was signed in Ugandan capital Kampala, after longtime dispute between Somali president and parliamentary speaker.

Some of Somali members of parliament who displayed their view of Kampala accord said that the deal is invalid and leads to the country to miss sovereignty.

Above four hundred MPs gathered in House of parliament and three hundred and ninety three supported the accord.

Somali parliamentary speaker Sharif Hasan Sheikh Adan announced that the accord is positive after polling.

On Sunday, Somali MP have met in Somali parliamentary house in Mogadishu so as to approve or disapprove Kampala accord which Somali president and parliamentary speaker, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Sharif Xasan Sheik Adan signed, but the meeting indeed without result.

The Kampala accord - mediated by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on June 9 - was meant to break the political deadlock between President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Speaker of Parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden and establish a road map for national elections as well as a new constitution.
