549 cattle of the cows category has deported into Uman country after ferry from that country put out to sea at Mogadishu seaport yesterday.
Manager of Mogadishu seaport, Abdullahi Ali Nor said the export of Somali livestock at Mogadishu seaport shows the progress made in the business saying it is open for all traders wanting to export cattle, camel, sheep and e.g.
Deputy Minister of trade affairs, H.E. Abdirisak Sh. Isma’il and deputy minister of National Resources, H.E. Sa’ido Ahmed Hassan both spoke at historic event that occurred in the Somali capital Mogadishu last night in particular at the main seaport.
They said this move would bring booming business and open market of the Somali livestock adding that there are 3000 of camels and thousands of goats ready to be exported from Mogadishu seaport.
The livestock taken last night to Uman in the Arab wolrd were under veterinary Quarantine north capital Mogadishu for 45 days for checking and caring them before they are sent abroad.
Bosaso seaport north east Somalia in Puntland, and Berbera seaport in Somaliland, northwest Somalia used to be the main ports used in exporting our livestock as Mogadishu went retired since 1991 when Somali central government collapsed.
