Stray bullet kills journalist in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU(Keydmedia.net)-Barkhad Awale Adam, director of local F.M station in the capital Mogadishu died today on Tuesday after stray bullet hit and killed him in his radio station, a journalist said.

The journalist was operating at Hurmo Radio in southern part of the capital, Mogadishu where he was the director of the radio for latest years and he was about 60 years old and left two children, a son and a daughter as Mohamed Abdi Madaale, his colleague told Keydmedia.net

 

The stray bullet is said to be from the warring zone where the government backed by African peacekeeping force and Islamist fighters are fighting the second day in Mogadishu.

 

The radio was different than other radios and owned by civil society group and was not part in the conflicts which might some of local media involved in, another journalist said.

 

The dead journalist was buried in the capital Mogadishu late this afternoon as one of Hurmo radio staff confirmed to Keydmedia.net.
