Abdikadir Mohammed Nur, the governor of Lower Shabelle region for Somalia government, told Keydmedia English News correspondent in Mogadishu that the curfew imposed to Afgoye district that will continue from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM local time in the district.

The governor further noted that the security forces will patrol street-to street during the nighttime curfew and will take into custody any group or individual committing acts against the security and stability of the town.

Somalia’s government soldiers backing by African Union forces, who have recently, took control over swathes of land located between Afgoye and Mogadishu after Islamist rebels linked with Al Qaeda withdrew, are hoping to gain public support.

Two days ago, the suicide car bomb exploded near Somali army base at Bar Ismail checkpoint in Afgoye, wounding five, mostly soldiers. Al shabab claimed the responsibility for that attack.
