CAIRO - Egypt has condemned "in extreme terms" a terrorist attack targeting a base belonging to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) on Tuesday, which killed at least 10 people from Burundi, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.

The terrorist group Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Egyptian foreign ministry said that Egypt as a government and people sends its sincere condolence to the government and people of Burundi and the families of the victims.
The ministry added that Egypt asserts its full solidarity with ATMIS in Somalia in facing all sorts of violence and terrorism, and completely supports the mission’s efforts to achieve stability in Somalia.
