Ethiopia, Somalia agree To Jointly Counteract Cross-Border Crimes

ADDIS ABABA - The Ethiopian Federal Police and the Police Force of Somalia inked an agreement to jointly counteract cross-border crimes.

It has been stated that the agreement will enable both sides to jointly operate on cross-border issues, especially to counteract terrorism and the illegal trafficking of people and weapons.

According to the agreement, it is said that young Somali police leaders will join the Ethiopian Police College and attend training. Hence, more than 40 Somali police officers will come to Ethiopia to receive training for first and second degrees in the College.

The 24th General Session of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO), being held in Addis Ababa for the past 6 days, is expected to conclude today.
