HirShabelle state faces security and drought crisis as Al-Shabaab imposed blockade on key roads to deny aid and business access to government-controlled towns.
BULO-BURDE, Somalia - Hirshabelle President Ali Gudlawe arrived today in Bulo-Burde District in the Hiran region, central Somalia which has been under Al-Shabaab blockade for 10 years.
The President was welcomed at the airport by his deputy Yusuf Ahmed Hagar [Daba-Geed], HirShabelle MPs and ministers as well as army officers and sections of the local society.
While in Bulo-Burde, Gudlawe will hold meetings with intellectuals and different key figures of the community in the District to discuss the security and the humanitarian crisis.
The visit, which becomes the first by Gudlawe to the town comes as Somali troops along with AU forces are conducting operations against Al-Shabaab in areas between Mahaas and Mataban.
