DOLOW, Somalia - Mahad Salad, Somalia's intelligence chief on Monday left Mogadishu on an unannounced trip to the Dolow district on the Kenyan border, where there is an ongoing campaign against Al-Shabaab.
The former Minister of Security of Jubaland state of Somalia Abdirashid Janan and Senator Fartag who were in the city welcomed the director of NISA at the airport and escorted him to a secure place.

Kooke's murder raised questions as officials in Jubaland demanded an investigation as they suspect Ethiopia may play role in the assasination. Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
NISA's director Mahad is accredited for massive reforms in the US-funded intelligence agency which mixed largely with politics during the leadership of ex-President Farmajo who used it to oppress his critics and journalists.
