MOGADISHU, Somalia - The Norwegian government said it is supporting Somalia with a financial aid package of $30 million as confirmed by the Somali Finance Minister on Sunday.
Minister of Finance Dr. Elmi Mohamud Nur said the $30 million dollars will be channeled through the World Bank which is at forefront of the main donors of Somalia.
The announcement of the support came during a one-day visit by the Minister of International Development of Norway, Anne Beathe to Mogadishu.
In a brief event in Mogadishu, an agreement was signed between the Minister of Finance Elmi Mohamud Nur, and the Minister of International Development of Norway Anne Beathe.
Norway is one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid to people affected by the drought. Oslo also contributed to the development of Somalia by carrying out key projects
