PM Hamza: Qatar an important partner of Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia -  The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia H E Hamza Abdi Barre has said the State of Qatar is an important partner of Somalia, thanking Qatar for its support to his country.

He made the remark on Tuesday during his inspection of the final stages of the Government Presidency Building project, in which reconstruction work is underway with funding by the Qatar Fund for Development.

Barre was briefed on the progress of the project, which includes a number of facilities, the most important of which are the prime minister’s office, the government headquarters, the prime minister’s residence, a guest house, and a mosque.

During his inspection of the final stages of the building project, the Somali Prime Minister was accompanied by former Somali Prime Minister H E Mohamed Hussein Robley, Deputy Prime Minister in the caretaker government of Somalia H E Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid, Qatar’s Ambassador to Somalia H E Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, as well as a number of ministers and officials.
