Deni's relations were at a low point since May 15 presidential election in Mogadishu, when the regional leader faced a devastating defeat to Hassan Sheikh, who won the race for the top seat.
MOGADISHU, Somalia - The president of Puntland state President Sa'ed Abdullahi Deni plans to make a secret trip to Mogadishu by the end of this month, sources revealed to Keydmedia Online.
The secret trip to Mogadishu is based on a personal issue of Deni who is facing a wave of crisis in Puntland after heavyweight politicians showed stiff opposition against an upcoming local election.
The sources added that Deni will ask Somali president Hassan Sheikh for support in his struggle to extend his term by two more years, a move that many warned to lead Puntland into chaos.
Deni's relations were at a low point since May 15 presidential election in Mogadishu, when the regional leader faced a devastating defeat to Hassan Sheikh, who won the race for the top seat.
The regional leader also lost his bid to become Somali PM after Hassan Sheikh picked Federal MP Hamza Abdi Barre from Jubaland as prime minister of the country in June of this year.
