MOGADISHU, Somalia - The Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Salah Jama, today chaired the weekly cabinet meeting at Villa Somalia which touched on the current crisis in the country, including the threat of Al-Shabaab to national security.

PM's office said the cabinet discussed the security, drought, and the recently held National Consultative Council forum between President Hassan Sheikh and the regional leaders.

The ministers approved the training and cooperation agreement between Somalia and Turkey in the field of military health which was submitted by the Ministry of Defence. The ongoing fighting against Al-Shabaab assisted by locals was also on the top of the agenda.

The Federal Minister of Interior presented a report on the drought relief activities and has reiterated the call to help the people who are suffering from the drought before it turns into famine.
