Somali PM Hamza Abdi Barre lands in Ethiopia for forum

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia - The Prime Minister of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre arrived today in Ethiopia, where he will be participating in the Tana Forum on the security and resilience of Africa.

The PM was warmly welcomed at the airport by the Deputy Chairman of the ruling PP Party, Adan Farah Ibrahim, the President of the Somali Regional state Mustafe Cagjar, and other officials.

The 10th Tana Forum which will kick off in Bahir Dar, the regional capital of Amhara on Friday, 14th October brings together African leaders who will discuss how to work together to find solutions to the continent's security challenges.

This year's Tana forum comes as the Somali government with the support of the residents in central regions is fighting against Al-Shabaab, in an attempt to regain full control of the country.

Barre is expected to meet his Ethiopian counterpart Abiy Ahmed, and they will discuss the bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, according to diplomatic sources in Addis Ababa.
