MOGADISHU, Somalia - The president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud travelled to the US from Kenya, where he attended Tuesday the inauguration and swearing-in of William Ruto

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation, including ministers and MPs, have left for the United States, where he will participate in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The annual conference which runs from the 13th to the 27th of this month focuses this year on reducing poverty and instability, improving education, creating jobs, finding solutions to natural disasters and the rights of minorities.

During his stay in the US, the president will meet with the leaders of the countries participating in the UNGA77 to strengthen the country's relations with the world and get support for the state building, war on Al-Shabaab and the drought response.
